Meet Laura
Head of Convention Bureau
Laura is VisitAberdeenshire’s Head of Convention Bureau. Day-to-day, Laura heads the team responsible for attracting business events to Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. The Aberdeenshire Convention Bureau team promote the region as an accessible conference destination, whilst highlighting local sector expertise, and working with industry partners to attract, and welcome, conferences to the destination. Laura has more than 16 years’ experience within the business events industry, and has worked within visitor attractions, catering companies, hotels, professional conference organisers and city convention bureau.
Here’s three things you might not know about Laura.
- Laura loves attending music gigs and festivals. Some of her favourite things to see and do in the region include attending larger gigs at P&J Live and discovering more local, intimate gigs within Aberdeen’s vibrant city centre.
- Her favourite part of her job is the diversity of the role. She loves meeting a wide range of clients and industry colleagues from various backgrounds that she would not have the opportunity to meet in another role.
- She loves animals and is widely known to live with house rabbits and cats, plus sponsoring a guide dog and a donkey named Jimmy.
Rebecca McIntyre
Business Events Executive
Meet Rebecca. Rebecca is VisitAberdeenshire’s Business Events Executive, working within Aberdeen Convention Bureau. Rebecca’s role is to promote Aberdeen as a leading business events destination, to help secure new international and national conferences and offering destination support to conferences and event planners.
Rebecca graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with BA (Hons) International Events Management. She has worked in various hospitality roles and previously worked for the National Trust for Scotland.
Here’s three things you might not know about Rebecca:
- Some of Rebecca’s favourite things to see and do in the region include going for walks, finding new places to explore outdoors and going for spontaneous road trips
- Her favourite part of her job is welcoming conference organisers to the region and assisting them with planning their events.
- Rebecca loves photography and often has her camera to hand everywhere she goes
Viktoriia Kuzienkova
Business Events Sales Executive
Viktoriia is VisitAberdeenshire’s Business Events Sales Executive. She is part of the Aberdeen Convention Bureau team, which works to attract and support conferences and business events in the region, showcasing all that Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire has to offer as a dynamic and welcoming destination. They do this by building strong relationships and working closely with partners to highlight the region’s venues, expertise and unique experiences.
Viktoriia has previous marketing and events experience on the project delivered by Aberdeenshire Council and within the energy sector before joining the Aberdeen Convention Bureau team.
Here are three things you might not know about Viktoriia:
- Viktoriia loves events and the region, and really looks forward to supporting more business events in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
- Her favourite part of the job is meeting great people and collaborating with them to support the region and bring more events here.
- Outside of work, Viktoriia enjoys exploring the region and trying local bakeries, cinnamon buns are her absolute favourite. She also likes baking herself.
Alanna Fowler
Travel Trade & Incentive Executive
Meet Alanna is VisitAberdeenshire’s Travel Trade & Incentive Executive, working hard to promote Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to UK and international travel trade partners, helping grow leisure tourism across the region.
With over 15 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, Alanna brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. She holds an HND in Travel and Tourism from NESCOL and previously worked as a senior business travel consultant, so she knows her way around an itinerary
Here’s three things you might not know about Alanna:
- She’s rarely at home in her spare time, you'll usually find her off in her campervan, exploring Scotland with her dog and a good book in hand
- Her favourite part of the job? Meeting amazing people from all over the world and showing off everything this brilliant region has to offer.
- She loves attending festivals and highland games and will often be seen fully immersed with the bands and great people who make the events special.
