Balmedie Beach & Country Park
Balmedie Beach is the star of the show, with miles of soft, pale sand framed by towering dunes and the North Sea’s ever-changing colours. At Balmedie Country Park, wooden boardwalks weave through the dunes, making it simple to explore. Picnic areas, barbeque stands, play spaces and sheltered paths make this a great choice for a relaxed day outdoors.
In 2021 Balmedie Beach was given a Visit Scotland’s Beach Award for excellence in access, facilities and safety, local environmental quality, and community and heritage.
