FAQs

If you have any queries, then you're in the right place. We pulled together these FAQs that will hopefully answer any questions you may have about the Aberdeen Ambassador Network.

If you didn't find what you were looking for, then please don't hesitate to contact us.

What is my role as an Ambassador?

As an Aberdeen Ambassador you play a key role in identifying and attracting potential conferences to Aberdeen through your expertise, influence and contacts.  You are not expected to organise an entire conference on your own, we are here to support and guide you.

How large does my event have to be?

With a varied selection of event venues, hotels and activities, the city is perfect to host your event or conference, no matter the size.

How much time do I have to assign to being an Aberdeen Ambassador?

You can spend as much or as little time as your schedule allows. Some Ambassadors prefer to support in the background, whereas others prefer to take the lead to bid for an event from their sector to come here. We are here to support your conference or event, but ultimately it is your enthusiasm and expertise that will help shape your experience.

Is there any financial support available to bid for the conference?

Organisers are welcome to apply for subvention funding to help support bid preparation, presentations or organising the conference.

Is there a fee for being part of Aberdeen Ambassador Network?

There is no cost to being a part of the network.

Can anyone join the Aberdeen Ambassador Network?

Yes, the Aberdeen Ambassador Network is open to everyone.  Whether you are an Academic, Business Professional or Subject Specialist and part of an Association, then the Network is ideal for you.

Do the Ambassadors ever meet with each other?

Absolutely, we are a very informal group who hold social evenings throughout the year.  We also host an Awards Ceremony to celebrate Ambassadors who have actively brought a conference to Aberdeen throughout the year.
